Reset: Reclaiming the Internet for Civil Society

Digital technologies have given rise to a new machine-based civilization that is increasingly linked to a growing number of social and political maladies. Accountability is weak and insecurity is endemic, creating disturbing opportunities for exploitation. With COVID-19 only heightening the demand for social media and amplifying negative externalities, it is all the more urgent for us to comprehensively address the intertwined pathologies of social media and surveillance capitalism.
